What should a photographers Bag carries

A very general question people ask is what they should carry in their camera bag. If you ask me, it depends on my purpose and where I’m going. Based on that, I choose what things I’ll be carrying with me.

If I’m going out to shoot street
In my case, a camera is an extension of my body. I see cameras as an extended part of me, so I carry my camera everywhere, no matter where I’m going. In this case, I carry only one camera, which is small in size and very compact—usually my Fujifilm X-Pro3 with a 23mm f/1.4. That’s my go-to lens and body for going out and shooting whatever comes across.

Usually, I carry a small messenger bag. In that, I carry my camera and lens, a water bottle [to keep myself hydrated], and an umbrella, just in case it rains.
And definitely, an extra pair of fully charged batteries and a fresh memory card.

If I’m going to shoot a professional assignment
Since I shoot weddings professionally for my living, in this case I carry a big camera bag with various types of gear.

My Cameras
I carry my two Sony cameras. I carry one Sony A9 II and Sony A7 IV as my workhorses.

My Lenses
I carry various kinds of lenses. If you see my work, you will notice I try to document the event and try to give my clients a memory book, not just some editorial-styled photos.

In this case, my go-to lenses are the Sony 50mm f/1.4 GM and Sony 35mm f/1.4 GM. I start any event with these two lenses. And in my bag, I carry one Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 lens and another Samyang 75mm T1.9 lens. These are all the lenses that go with me to an event.

Accessories
My very first accessories are my Peak Design straps. On my two shoulders, on my right side I carry a Peak Design Leash with the A9 II paired with the 50mm f/1.4 GM, and on my left shoulder I carry my A7 IV paired with the 35mm f/1.4 GM.

Second, my sunglasses. It’s a must-have item in my bag because I’m a migraine patient. If I’m shooting in harsh sunlight, sunglasses are a must-have item in my bag.

And a memory card pouch—there I carry at least 6 pairs of Sony Tough cards, 128GB each, to be extra safe, and 5 fully charged batteries.

Lastly, I carry a few emergency medicines just in case.

Light Set Up
I’m not a person who uses flash much. I carry one LED light, which is the YN360LC, and a Molus LED panel light from Godox called FL150. In 90% of cases, I rely on these lights to light my photos.

Yes, of course, I carry flashes. I carry a Godox AD200 Pro as my main flash and another Godox V1 as my second light. To shape the light, I carry one Phottix Raja 85 and 65 as my modifiers, and I also carry a dome that comes with the Godox V1 kit.

This is more or less what I carry with me when I’m going to shoot an event and all.
